Shift Happens
At Joe Davis Autosport
Spring is in full bloom, the birds are chirping, and we’re all soaking in that perfect weather—until, of course, May pulls its classic move and randomly drops an 95-degree day on us. (That’s your cue to make sure your A/C is blowing cold… unless you enjoy arriving at your destination looking like you just finished a 5K).
But May isn’t just about sneezing and questioning how much pollen you can get away with on your windshield. It’s also packed with celebrations! We kick things off with Cinco de Mayo—tacos and margaritas! Then, there’s Mother’s Day, when we remind ourselves that Mom deserves way better than that last-minute grocery store bouquet. And don’t forget Memorial Day, the unofficial start of summer (and grilling season) when we start realizing… I probably should’ve started that “summer bod” plan earlier in the year.
So grab your allergy meds, double-check that your A/C is up to the challenge, and let’s dive into this month’s shop updates, car care tips, and a few things you actually want to read. Trust me—you’ll want to stick around for this one.
WE WON!
Joe Davis Autosport Has Been Voted
“Bucks County’s 2025 Best Auto Repair Service”

We Won—Thanks to YOU!
From all of us at Joe Davis Autosport, THANK YOU to our phenomenal friends, family, and loyal customers who voted for us — your support means the absolute world to us!
This year has been packed with milestones — 35 years in business, Top-Rated on Carfax for the 5th year in a row, and now crowned Bucks County’s Best!
But truth be told? While we love the shiny badges and the public applause (and hey, we’ll take them!), it’s the little moments that drive us most: A good laugh with a customer about life outside the hood, volunteering in our hometown, and working alongside people who feel more like family than coworkers.
So here’s to 35 years of busted knuckles, solved mysteries, and heartfelt conversations at the service desk. We’re grateful, humbled, and still just as excited to turn the wrench each day. Thanks for being part of the ride.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Team at Joe Davis Autosport
A Message From Joe

A Month of Growth, Gratitude, and Great Moms
May has always been one of my favorite months. The world wakes up from its winter nap, trees stretch out their new green leaves, flowers bloom, and the sun sticks around a little longer, as if it too, enjoys our company.
People seem lighter, happier—probably because they’re no longer scraping ice off their windshields. It also happens to be my birth month (71 and still kicking!), but more importantly, it’s the month we celebrate the real superheroes of the world: moms.
Mothers are the first people we meet, the first voices we hear, and—let’s be honest—the first people we annoy. They carry us for nine months, experiencing discomfort that we will never fully appreciate, then endure the agony of childbirth just to bring us into the world. And that’s just the beginning.
They feed us, change us, hold us, and sacrifice their sleep, sanity, and personal space to make sure we’re okay. For the first six years of our lives, they teach us nearly everything—how to walk, talk, share, and (if they’re lucky) how to put things back where we found them. They set aside their own dreams to give us a better life, without regret, because their greatest success is seeing us thrive.
My mom was nothing short of extraordinary. Imagine this: six kids by the age of 24. That’s a new baby every year—before Pampers existed. And we were dirt poor. After a brief four-year “break” (which I imagine was just enough time to catch her breath), she had four more. That’s ten kids total. If that isn’t superhero material, I don’t know what is.
After 25 years of marriage, my parents divorced, leaving my mom to raise four kids on her own. But in true warrior fashion, she went back to school, earned a nursing degree, and did it with a 4.0 GPA—all while working full-time nights to support us. Everyone who met her loved her.
Every Mother’s Day, Cindi and I would throw a big celebration in her honor, and it wasn’t just a small gathering—it was an event. Over 70 people would show up. But to me, it was never enough. She deserved so much more.
Then COVID hit, and we had to put our celebrations on pause. In 2021, when the world was still hesitant about large gatherings, we decided to take a chance and celebrate anyway. I’m so glad we did, because that was the last Mother’s Day we got with her. She passed away that July. So when you feel the weight of loss pressing on your heart, remember love never dies it flows through you. Through your actions, through the kindness you offer to the world. As long as you keep loving. As long as you keep loving those who have passed remain part of you, and in that they are never truly gone.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that we don’t always say “I love you” enough. But every time I told my mom, she’d respond the same way: “I love you more.”
So, this Mother’s Day, spend time with your mom. Tell her how much she means to you. Thank her for all the ways—big and small—that she made your life better. And for those of us whose moms are no longer here, let’s celebrate them by living the kind of lives they worked so hard to give us.
And before I go, let me say this as loud as possible:
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all the incredible moms out there—keep up the great work! Oh, and happy 71st birthday to me. Here’s to many more!

Hoppin Good Times with the Perkasie Hoppers

On Saturday, April 12th, we joined the Perkasie Hoppers for their Easter Shop Hop. Now, when we say “joined,” what we really mean is—we committed hard. We had tons of eggs stuffed with sweet treats for the kids, and thanks to our friends at Free Will Brewing, a cooler full for the grown-ups too. Because let’s be honest—you're never too old for beer (only too young, sorry kids).
One small issue: it was 35 degrees, raining sideways, and we’re located approximately one epic hill away from the main hub of activity. We cracked open our first beer thinking, “Welp, we’ll just have to drink all this ourselves.”
For the first hour, we saw exactly one family. Naturally, we handed their kids enough eggs to spark a sugar rush—because hey, who else was coming?
But instead of throwing ourselves a pity party (complete with sad violin music), we rallied. With the help of family members who stopped by, we trekked up the hill into town and started telling everyone, “Hey! There’s eggs—and uh beer—FREE beer—just down and up the hill there!”
Anyway, turns out the dad from the first family, snapped a photo and shared it with the message: “Make sure to stop by Joe Davis Autosport—they’ve got FREE beer for parents!”
And just like that—BOOM. Word spread like wildfire. While half of us were in town hustling, the crew back at JDA got absolutely flooded with families. Parents were way more excited than their kids (which, honestly, we respect).
Moral of the story? The power of community is real—and so is the power of a dad with a smartphone. One little action turned our chilly, soggy Saturday into a hoppin’ success (get it? Shop Hop? No? Ok—We’ll see ourselves out).
Huge thanks to the amazing Perkasie community for showing up, rain and all. We’re proud to be your local Euro car pros and honorary Easter Egg (Beer) suppliers. We wouldn’t trade it for all the jellybeans’ in the world.
Don’t Let Your Car Smell or Feel Like a Sauna!
We get it, some of you may be working on your summer ‘bods” and going to the gym. But you GO TO a gym. You don’t drive IN ONE. So tell us why your car smells and feels like one? (when I say you - I’m totally talking about me before I learned that an air filter and cabin filter are 2 completely different things!)
Spring is a crucial time to check air filters, cabin filters, and your AC system. We cannot express this enough! Well I can… so picture this:
It’s one of those 80 degree, “surprise-heat-wave” days in May. You’re stuck in traffic with a broken AC (which you just discovered because it was totally working fine the last time you used it… just 9 months ago). You walk into work, with an unbeknownst sweat imprint of your seatbelt across your dress shirt AND— Do I need to continue? You get the jist? Let us check your AC systems this spring, before it’s too late!
Timing Chain Replacement on a 2015 Porsche Cayenne
Ever wondered what goes into a major repair on a high-end vehicle like a Porsche Cayenne?
Our shop foreman, Ryan, recently took on the challenging task of a full timing chain replacement on a Cayenne. This wasn't just a quick tune-up—Ryan removed the entire powertrain, separated the transmission, and meticulously replaced the timing chain and all related components. His expertise in hard diagnostics and attention to detail make complex jobs like this look easy (even though they're anything but!).

The Truth: Check Engine Lights
So, your check engine light just popped on—cue the mild panic. You scan the code and it says something like P0300 – Random Misfire Detected. Sounds official, right? But here’s the thing: that code is like a zip code—it points us to the general area, but it doesn’t give us the full address of the problem.
A code is just a clue, not the full story.
Imagine trying to find a friend’s house with just the zip code. You’d be knocking on every door hoping for the best. That’s what a code does—it tells us something is wrong but doesn’t tell us why. And when it comes to diagnosing European vehicles, “why” is everything.
Every make, model, and year of European car is different. A 2023 Audi A6 and a 2018 Audi Q5 might share a brand, but their diagnostic systems are worlds apart. Even a small software update can change how your car talks to us. That’s why our ASE-certified technicians go beyond just reading a code—we analyze real-time data, run pinpoint tests, and dig deep to find the real issue.
We’re here to fix, not just find more problems.
We know mechanics can get a bad rap—you come in for one issue, and suddenly there’s a list of recommended repairs. But here’s the truth: we don’t “find” more problems, we uncover them before they leave you stranded. Our goal is to tell you exactly what’s wrong, in plain English (no confusing tech talk), and help you prioritize what needs attention now versus what can wait.
We have the right tools, the right software, and the right people to diagnose and fix your car the right way. So, if your check engine light is on and you want more than just a zip code, come see us.
