Sunshine, Open Roads & Moving Forward
At Joe Davis Autosport

June always feels like the unofficial start of summer around Bucks County. School buses disappear from the morning commute and suddenly the roads fill with SUVs loaded with pool noodles, sunscreen, and at least one forgotten flip-flop.
Road trip season officially kicks off, which means two things: testing your car’s A/C and testing your family’s patience. The days are longer, the nights are warmer, and somehow everyone becomes a self-proclaimed grill master overnight. And with Father’s Day around the corner, there’s a good chance at least one dad in Bucks County is already standing over the grill insisting he’s “got his own system.”
And let’s be honest… there’s nothing quite like getting into a parked car in June and immediately questioning all your life choices.
But it’s also one of the best times of year to get outside, hit the road, and make the most of summer. Inside this month’s newsletter, we’re sharing a few ways to help keep your vehicle cool and road-trip ready, along with some shop updates and community highlights.
So grab your sunglasses, roll down the windows (or crank the A/C… we won’t judge), and let’s cruise into June together.
A Message From Joe

Fear is a funny thing. Most of us spend our lives trying to avoid it like it’s a telemarketer calling during dinner. We distract ourselves, rationalize it, bury it under work, money, food, noise, or endless scrolling on a phone pretending we’re “researching.” But fear doesn’t disappear just because you ignore it. It just waits in the corner like an unpaid parking ticket… collecting interest.
The truth is, fear is not always the enemy. Sometimes it’s the dashboard warning light for your life.
Now, I’m not talking about irrational fear like being chased by a squirrel the size of a Labrador. I’m talking about the kind of fear that shows up when you’re about to grow. The fear of failure. The fear of looking stupid. The fear of making the wrong decision. The fear of change. The fear of success itself.
Most people run from it.
But what if fear is actually trying to teach us something?
Some of the biggest turning points in my life came wrapped in fear. Leaving a guaranteed paycheck to start a business in a garage? Fear. Signing loans I wasn’t sure we could pay? Fear. Hiring employees and realizing other families depended on my decisions? Fear. Raising kids? That’s just fear mixed with grocery bills.
But every time I stopped running long enough to examine the fear instead of obeying it, something interesting happened. The fear lost some of its power. It became less like a monster and more like a grumpy old coach yelling from the sidelines.
Fear usually points toward something important. Something meaningful. Something worth doing.
If you really dig into it, fear often asks a simple question:
“Do you believe in yourself enough to move forward anyway?”
That’s where growth lives. Not in comfort. Not in certainty. Certainly not in Facebook comment sections. Growth lives in learning how to walk straight into discomfort without letting it drive the car.
The trick is not to eliminate fear. That’s impossible. The trick is learning how to work with it.
Feel it.
Examine it.
Ask where it’s coming from.
Figure out what it’s trying to protect.
Then decide whether it deserves a vote in your decisions.
Sometimes fear is wisdom.
Sometimes fear is insecurity wearing a fake mustache pretending to be wisdom.
You have to know the difference.
And here’s the irony: the things we fear most are often the exact things that make us stronger, wiser, and more alive. Every meaningful accomplishment carries risk. Nobody ever built a great marriage, business, friendship, or life while staying emotionally parked in neutral.
At 72 years old, I’ve learned this:
Most people fear more in imagination than they do in reality.
Courage is not the absence of fear.
Courage is hearing fear scream in the passenger seat while you keep driving anyway.
Preferably with good brakes.

Before Your Summer Road Trip, Give Your Engine a Good Warm-Up
Summer is road trip season. Whether you're heading to the beach, the mountains, or just visiting family, your vehicle is about to do something it may not do very often: spend hours on the highway.
Believe it or not, that's actually a good thing.
Many vehicles spend most of their time making short trips around town. School runs, grocery stops, coffee runs, and daily errands often don't give the engine enough time to fully warm up.
When an engine doesn't regularly reach full operating temperature, moisture can build up inside over time. A longer drive allows the engine to get fully warmed up and helps burn off that excess moisture.
It's one of the reasons vehicles often seem to run their best after a good road trip.
So before summer gets into full swing, don't feel guilty about taking the scenic route or planning that weekend getaway. Your vehicle may enjoy the drive just as much as you do.
Safe travels and enjoy the road ahead this summer!

As the weather starts warming up across Bucks County, many drivers begin noticing the same thing:
The A/C still works… but it just doesn’t feel as cold as it used to.
Maybe the airflow feels weaker. Maybe it takes longer to cool down. Maybe there’s a strange smell when the system first kicks on. These small warning signs are easy to ignore in mild weather, but once summer heat arrives, minor A/C issues can quickly become major frustrations.
One of the biggest misconceptions we see is the idea that an A/C system simply “needs a recharge.”
In reality, refrigerant does not just evaporate over time. If levels are low, there is usually an underlying issue somewhere within the system. Simply topping it off without proper testing often acts as a temporary Band-Aid instead of addressing the root cause.
At Joe Davis Autosport, our A/C System Evaluation is designed to properly inspect your system before a small issue becomes a larger repair.
Our evaluation includes:
Pressure testing with manifold gauges
System operation and performance checks
Inspection for visible leaks or component concerns
Specialized A/C dye testing to help identify hidden leaks early
Our goal is simple: help you avoid unexpected A/C failure during the hottest part of the summer.
If your BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Porsche, MINI, or Volvo is showing signs your A/C system may be struggling, now is the best time to have it checked, before the summer rush arrives.
Stay cool out there!
